Branch tracking

You must completely configure your MMP to ensure accurate data tracking and optimal campaign performance. Complete all the steps listed below before you launch any campaign. Unless otherwise indicated, do each step in the Branch dashboard.

  1. Configure Axon by AppLovin as a partner. To configure Axon by AppLovin as a partner, do the following:

    1. Open branch.io in your browser.
    2. Select CONFIGURE > Ad Partners.
    3. Search for and select Axon by AppLovin from the list of enabled ad partners.

    Navigate to Attribution Setup > Partner Configuration to set up Axon by AppLovin partnership. Select Axon by AppLovin as a partner to proceed with attribution configuration.

  2. Set your SDK key. After you select Axon by AppLovin as the ad partner, select the ACCOUNT SETTINGS tab. Enter your Axon by AppLovin SDK key in the SDK Key field to enable Axon by AppLovin as an ad partner. You can find this key in the Axon by AppLovin dashboard under Account > Keys .

    CONFIGURE > Ad Partners. Ad Partner Settings: Axon by AppLovin. Account Settings. Ad Account Information. These credentials will be automatically added to your postbacks. Reset All Settings button. SDK Key field. Disable Partner button. Save button.

  3. Enable postbacks. Basic postbacks for events such as INSTALL and PURCHASE are automatically active after you enable Axon by AppLovin as your ad partner by completing Steps 1 and 2 above. To add more postbacks, do the following:

    1. Select the POSTBACK CONFIG tab.

    2. Click Add New Postback below the table of events.

      CONFIGURE > Ad Partners. Ad Partner Settings: Axon by AppLovin. Postback Config. Table of events. Add New Postback button. PAM for Publishers toggle. Disable Partner button. Save button.

    3. Select the event you wish to add as a postback from the modal that appears on the screen.

    4. Click Save.

    5. Check the ENABLE and ALL EVENTS checkboxes in the row corresponding to the just-addded post-install event.

    6. Click Save.

    Add New Postback. Select an event: Event drop-down selector. Save button.

Only send revenue that you generate from direct user payments for digital or physical goods or services.

Send:

  • Purchases of IAPs such as in-game items, currency, boosters, etc.
  • Subscriptions (but only when the user is actually billed, not during a free trial)
  • Food delivery orders, ride-sharing or taxi rides (send the full price the user is paying)

Do not send:

  • Predicted revenue or predicted LTV
  • Revenue from government subsidies or grants
  • Revenue from referring the user to another company’s products or apps, or from the user’s purchases on another app/website (if, for example, you run a rewards app that refers users to other apps)
  • Revenue from showing advertisements in the app

Always send the full value the user is being charged (including all taxes and fees). If the transaction is not in USD, you may send the local currency amount and specify the currency of the transaction, or have your MMP handle the currency conversion to USD using the exchange rate of the day. Contact your MMP representatives if you have questions about currency reporting and exchange in checkout postbacks.

  1. Verify link parameters. Branch automatically appends partner-specific link parameters during the link creation process. Select the LINK PARAMETERS tab to review and verify the link parameters that Branch automatically appends for Axon by AppLovin.

    CONFIGURE > Ad Partners. Ad Partner Settings: Axon by AppLovin. Link Parameters. List of default link parameters. Disable Partner button. Save button.

  2. Configure attribution windows. To configure the attribution window settings and complete the Branch integration process, do the following:

    1. Select the ATTRIBUTION WINDOWS tab.
    2. Set the click-through (click to install on the Branch dashboard) lookback window to seven days (minimum).
    3. Set the view-through (impression to install the Branch dashboard) lookback window to 1 days (minimum).
    4. Click Save.

    CONFIGURE > Ad Partners. Ad Partner Settings: Axon by AppLovin. Attribution Windows. Use ad partner attribution settings toggle. click to install: 7 days. impression to install: 1 days. Save button.
